About The Event
Valencia’s history dates back to 138 B.C., when the Romans founded Valentia on a fertile island formed by the meanders of the Turia River. Over the centuries, Moors, Christians, and successive civilizations have all played a role in shaping Valencia, leaving behind a rich architectural legacy. The city’s historic bridges—such as Serranos, Rein, and Trinity—stand as enduring testaments to its past. Crafted from beautifully carved ashlar stone, these robust structures not only connected the city’s banks but also facilitated its expansion over the ages, carrying with them countless stories and historical anecdotes.
Valencia’s bridges are not just relics of the past. The city also embraces modernity with striking contemporary designs, such as the Exhibition Bridge, fondly nicknamed the “hair comb”, a masterpiece by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava.
